And then around 11:30pm I can hear what's going on, in the room on the opposite side of the hall. I can very clearly hear this woman moaning and gasping, as she and someone else are obviously having sex in the room across from me.
I would not recommend the cheapest rooms to anyone looking for a quiet night's sleep.
I can hear every footstep outside, I can hear the hallway door opening and closing, it's incredibly annoying. If I were to have a quiet conversation with someone in my room, people in the hallway would be able to hear every word of it.
I do not want to be hearing ANY of this. How hard is it to install some noise blocking felt around the room door, and a noise blocking seal along the bottom of the room door?
The toilet is a huge old beast with what looks like a water-wasting 5-gallon flush.
Those really old rooms should probably be remodeled into 1-bed rooms with a larger and normal sized bathroom. And soundproofing around the room door frame.
The hotel is nice and clean and the staff was very nice. Only problem we had was with the food. I ordered chicken strips for my son and they came completely Raw. In fact, they were still cold in the middle. It appeared that two of them were stuck together and did not cook. I was issued a refund for the chicken strips. I'm very thankful he didn't eat them as he could have gotten very sick.
This appears to be a really old hotel retrofitted with new additions. The lowest rate 2-bed rooms next to the lobby (200-220 or so) are tiny. The bathroom is a weird wedge in the back corner of the room, and the bathroom door is so small and narrow, that I rub my shoulders on the door frame, and I have to turn sideways to get through it. I am not a big person.
The plumbing water supply to these old rooms appears to be severely undersized. While taking a shower, the water temperature is constantly changing as people in other rooms are flushing their toilet or using their sink. I try to adjust the water temperature to a comfortable setting, but I am constantly being hit with frying hot followed by cold.
Room clean, comfortable bed (queen). Relatively quiet facility although when the ATVs are running and you are on the back side of the property near the trail entrance, you will hear them in your room. Staff pleasant but could be more versed on the area and dining facilities listed in their menu folder. Was only able to eat the complimentary breakfast on site as the restaurant and bar were not serving food due to 'kitchen problems'.
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last several years, often in November and December while visiting family. Each time, I have had a pleasant experience. The rooms are modest but clean. The pool area is clean. The continental breakfast has hot food as well as cereals, breads, etc. The front desk staff have always been friendly and welcoming. I've also never had an issue with their Wi-Fi. I intend to continue staying here when I am in the area!
This has to be one of the worst hotels we have stayed at! The entire place is in major need of maintenance. Upon arrival we were given false hope since the lobby seemed reasonably nice. We very quickly realized that we made a bad decision once we headed to our room. The overflowing outside trash can greeted us as we re-entered near our room. We made it past broken floor tiles, holes in walls, and trim pieces that were falling off the walls as we headed down the hall. Once inside our room it only got worse! The bathroom stunk like mildew, the floors were dirty, and the uncomfortable beds had some very poor fitting sheets that wouldn’t stay on the mattresses. The walls must not have much soundproofing since we could hear the TV and any other noise from our neighbors. Plus there is a gap under the doors large enough to see the lights from the hall. This allows us to hear everybody who walks past our room. The ice machine that is intended to service our half the hotel was not even there and the soda machine only had one selection stocked the entire time we were there! I would NOT recommend this hotel!!!
And for whatever reason in the room I was in, while laying in the bed trying to sleep, I keep hearing this water pressure surging noise every once in a while from the bathroom area, that last for about 10-15 seconds or so. What the hell is it and why aren't the pipes soundproofed in the walls, so I don't need to keep listening to this?
And speaking of soundproofing, there is essentially no soundproofing around the room door. With the room lights off, the hallway light shines in all the way around the door frame. I wanted quiet so I had the room climate control turned off, and I can hear EVERYTHING in the hallway laying in the bed.
I went and complained about this to the front desk, and they gave me a room change around midnight to a different part of the hotel with an inner bedroom door, but I should not have to be dealing with this.
